>>> SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: PAYROLL |
|
|
|
Why Outsource Your Payroll? Have you given thought to the possibility that your company could benefit from outsourcing this important but often complex and time-consuming role?
Managing payroll in-house requires hiring specialised staff, investing in software, and dedicating resources to training. Outsourcing allows companies to avoid these costs, only paying for the services they use. Additionally, outsourcing can reduce the risk of errors - which can be costly to rectify.
Payroll processing involves a significant amount of time-consuming tasks such as calculating wages, deductions, taxes, and preparing reports. Outsourcing frees up time for internal staff to focus on core business activities, increasing productivity and efficiency.
Payroll service providers employ experts who stay updated on the latest regulations, tax laws, and best practices. Your company can tap into this expertise and ensure payroll processes are efficient and compliant.
Payroll regulations and tax laws are complex and subject to frequent changes. Outsourcing ensures that payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Find out more by having a chat with Blue Peak to hear how we can help your company’s payroll operations.

A common question we get asked by our clients is
"What are payments on account?"
The answer to this question is as follows:
Payments on account are advance payments made towards your Self Assessment tax bill, including Class 4 National Insurance (if you're self-employed). These payments kick in if:
·
Your last Self Assessment tax bill was £1,000 or more.
·
Less than 80% of your tax was deducted at source (e.g., through PAYE).
Payments on account are intended to help you with cash-flow as you are paying towards next year’s tax bill, however in practice they result in large tax bills and often come as a surprise if you are not aware of the rules.
They are calculated based on your previous year's tax bill. Each payment is half of your previous year's tax bill, and they are due in two instalments: by midnight on 31 January and 31 July.
There may be things that you can do to reduce these, but understanding and managing payments on account can help you stay on top of your tax obligations and avoid unexpected bills.
Why not give us a call and chat though how we might be able to help you.

You’ll probably recall that we supported the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service for a third year. We are continuing our support for this wonderful local charity throughout 2025. But we couldn’t achieve what we have done without the amazing support of our clients. - Over the past year we raised £4211. |

Together we raised money through raffles at BizFest and Henley Living Advent Calendar, book sales, a volunteer day at the shopping centre in Windsor, and a pop-up shop at Christmas in our offices at Winnersh selling toys. The team at Alexander Devine have given a flavour of what you have helped them achieve:
“Your wonderful support is helping us be there for children like Elikai, giving him the care and opportunities he needs to grow and flourish. His parents were told it was unlikely he'd survive the pregnancy. Despite all the odds, Elikai is now three years old."
"Elikai's been coming to the hospice since he was one year old. We never imagined he'd be able to do an activity such as baking cookies for us. What we love the most is that Elikai is so happy when he visits. He's getting access to activities and facilities he cannot get anywhere else. We are so grateful to the hospice service and feel privileged to be able to come here." - Elikai’s parents, Annicka and Politon
